The Season of Chaos: How to Stay Sane When Life Gets Busy
Iām exhausted. There, I said it. This year has been a whirlwind with the launch of Motherhood Embraced, and let me tell you, the learning curve of eCommerce has been steep! Starting a business to support overwhelmed mums wasnāt a coincidenceāit was a calling. Why? Because I am one of you.
No matter how many years of motherhood you have under your belt, moments of overwhelm still creep in. Itās usually when I let my self-care slide, burning the candle at both ends. And letās be realāthis time of year makes that so easy to do.
So, how do we manage the chaos without losing ourselves in it?
Step one: acknowledge the struggle. Itās okay to admit that youāre ārunning a bit rough.ā Recognising the signs of burnout isnāt weakness; itās self-awareness.
š
Step two: breathe. Pause for a moment to truly identify whatās weighing on you. Is it the endless to-do list? The pressure to meet expectations? Once you know the culprits, ask yourself: Can I let go of this task? Can I delegate it? Spoiler alert: the world wonāt end if you donāt bake the perfect Christmas cookies.

Step three: implement boundaries. This might mean saying no to an event or limiting how much you take on. Boundaries protect your energy, allowing you to focus on what truly mattersāyour well-being and your family.

But letās not stop there. Let me share whatās helped me reset when things get out of control:
ā¢ š Micro moments of self-care: Even five minutes to sip a coffee in silence can be a game-changer.
ā¢ š Chunking tasks: Breaking chores into smaller, manageable bits makes them less daunting.
ā¢ š Simplifying traditions: Itās the love and connection that matter, not Pinterest-worthy perfection.
And remember, asking for help isnāt a sign of failureāitās a superpower. Whether itās your partner, a friend, or even the kids, share the load.
This season, letās promise each other something: weāll give ourselves grace. After all, even superheroes need a break.
